Cine underground, historia crítica, de Parker Tyler (Planeta, 1973) aborda el underground americano de finales de los 50 y los 60 entroncándolo con las experiencias surrealistas y vanguardistas de los 20.
_Enfrentado de pleno con varias de las tesis defendidas por el imprescindible Jonas Mekas y el underground americano, aporta una perspectiva especialmente crítica sobre el underground.
Pero quizá lo mejor es, además de leer también a Mekas, incluso antes en mi opinión, ver con curiosidad y espíritu crítico este cine que, aunque es subterráneo, también logra a veces resplandecer como una luciérnaga en la oscuridad.
_Tyler incluye una lista de títulos significativos y es curioso observar que bastantes, a pesar del claro enfrentamiento de posturas entre Tyler y Mekas, los defendía con su pasión habitual el propio Mekas. Quizá sea por algo...
